workity work

I've realised that working in the media, as a young woman, is difficult. I think I'm at the bottom of the barrel here. I don't have a car, I have to take public transportation and walk (it's dangerous out there), and I've got little media experience. I'm learning though. I'm going to get better too. You have no choice but to get in and get the work done.

Editing seems to be a male dominated field, although there are just as many female editors as male in the office. I have a feeling they don't expect you to know very much about basic movie skills, and storytelling. Hum. I'm not even sure of what my job actually entails. Sigh. I suppose I have to set parameters for that too because no one knows and or cares so I have to seek my own and the company's interests. I like working independently though. I have to set higher standards for work though. It's just that sometimes time doesn't permit. But yeah, need to up the ante very very soon.

Gah I'm a workaholic and now I have even less of a life. Mmm work.
